Hel

'In Norse Mythology, Hel is a being that presides over a realm of the same name, where she receives a portion of the dead. Hel is the daughter of Loki, and to "go to Hel" is to die. In the Prose Edda book Gylfaginning, Hel is described as having been appointed by the god Odin as ruler of a realm of the same name, located in Nifleheim. In the same source, her appearance is described as half-black and half-flesh colored.'

Fenrir

'When the gods knew that Fenrir was fully bound, Fenrir reacted violently; he opened his jaws very widely, and tried to bite the gods. The gods thrust "a certain sword" into Fenrir's mouth, the hilt of the sword on Fenrir's lower gums and the point his upper gums. Fenrir howled horribly, saliva ran from his mouth, and this saliva formed the river Ván. There Fenrir will lie until Ragnarök, when Fenrir ultimately kills Odin.'

I also did a new Amaterasu sculpture. I forgot my old one in Salt Lake, so I figured I'd make up a slightly new and improved one with fur and such.

Neytiri Sculpture

I was trying to sculpt something that wasnt so cartoony and this is what I managed. I wish I could figure out how to smooth it all over better. It still looks rough around the edges, and the pose is just dumb... but I was simply trying to see how it would go if I sculpted arms, torso, and legs all separately. I liked the method alot.

Edit: I'll probably re-take these pictures, her legs look a little more stumpy than they really are because of the angle I took them from.

I finally started working on coloring her face and did a tiny bit to her front. I will finish the texture and rig her even if it looks like ass.

I've been taking an online fine arts class and it dawned on me I have not done a picture like this in years... an attempt at a self portrait done in photoshop. Now back to studying and playing Demons Souls on the PS3

re-topologized and such. She's still rather high in the poly count, though. 9800. But it was my first time using the tool. I'm texturing her now on a 1024x1024 map.
